About me

I’m Szabolcs Balla, a professional actor and musician.

I was born in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania in 1983. I graduated from the Szentgyörgyi István Faculty of Theatre Arts Târgu-Mureş in 2005, and I have been working at the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj ever since.

Besides my roles at the Hungarian Theatre, I’ve been involved in projects such as performances at the Paintbrush Factory (post.sync, a Groundfloor Group performance), movies, movie-dubbing, radio commercials and so on.

My other passion is music. I studied as a high-school student canto at the Nagy István Art Lyceum in my hometown. Nowadays, I play several instruments, including saxophone, and bass, sometimes I do beat-boxing and voice imitation, most of it as the member of Funkorporation and Loose Neckties Society.

In addition to my mother-tongue Hungarian, I also speak fluent Romanian, English and German.
